Entry point: inbound API call

The Inbound API call entry point is triggered whenever an external platform sends information to Emailchef via an API request.

This feature is ideal for connecting Emailchef with the systems and apps you already use, enabling you to launch automations in real time. You can leverage it, for example:

  • after a purchase on your e-commerce, to start a post-sale workflow;
  • after a form submission in your CRM, to place a lead into a nurturing journey;
  • following any other event generated by an external application, so you can instantly respond with relevant communications.

Thanks to this entry point, Emailchef becomes an integral part of your digital ecosystem, allowing you to turn every external action into an automation opportunity.

How to set up the “Inbound API call” trigger.

1. Copy the predefined URL.

Emailchef automatically generates a dedicated URL for the API call. Copy and paste this URL into the external platform from which you want to send the data.

2. Select the list.

3. Configure the request body.

The API call must include the contact data in JSON format. Email address is mandatory.

Other fields can be mapped according to your needs, aligning them with the fields available in your Emailchef list.

4. Set up authentication.

In the header section of the request, enter the API keys associated with your Emailchef account. This ensures that data sent from the external platform is securely accepted and recorded.

5. Set “Repeat flow”.

By default, a contact can go through the flow only once: this means that once the sequence is completed, they won’t be able to re-enter.

If you enable Repeat Flow, however, the same contact will be able to repeat the sequence each time they meet the entry condition again.

6. Define exit conditions.

If you wish, you can set exit criteria to stop the flow when a contact no longer meets the requirements, keeping your communications always relevant and targeted.
