Entry point: Contact enters segment

The Contact enters segment entry point automatically starts a flow whenever a contact becomes part of a segment.

Contact enters segment

A segment is a dynamic group of contacts that share certain characteristics or behaviors. This could include, for example, users who have opened a specific email, clicked on a particular link, or live in a specific geographical area.

In all cases, the flow starts as soon as the contact joins the selected segment.

This trigger is perfect for launching targeted, relevant automations based on your contacts’ profiles or actions.

For example, you could send a special offer only to those who clicked on a link related to a specific product, or a loyalty campaign to those who interacted with at least three of your latest emails.

How to configure the “Contact enters segment” trigger.

1. Select the target list.

When setting the entry point, choose the list that contains the segment you want to monitor. The flow will only trigger for contacts who enter the segment within that list.

2. Choose the segment

After selecting the list, specify the segment that will trigger the flow. Only contacts who join this segment will start the automation.

3. Decide whether to enable “Repeat flow”.

By default, a contact can only go through the flow once. This means that once the sequence is completed, they won’t be able to repeat the flow.

If you enable Repeat flow, that contact can repeat the sequence multiple times.

4. Set exit criteria.

If you wish, you can define exit conditions to stop the flow when it’s no longer relevant to the contact.

As soon as an exit condition is met, the contact will immediately leave the flow.
