Google’s well-known analytics and statistics service is unable to guarantee the security of users’ personal data, and the main issue lies in the lack of protection as required by GDPR.
Using Google Analytics involves transferring data to servers located in the United States, making it impossible to comply with the protection standards set by European regulations.
Faced with these challenges, we decided to adopt an internal, locally managed statistics service as an alternative to Google Analytics: Matomo. This is a highly advanced tracking and statistics service hosted on our own servers, allowing us to track user actions while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
This way, we can continue to measure traffic and record user behavior while maintaining high security standards and GDPR compliance.
This decision required significant technical adjustments but aligns with the need to prioritize user security and data protection.
